§ 42-404. Information and education.

Latest version.
  • The public will be made aware of conservation, drought, and emergency conditions through information distributed by the city. During periods of any of these conditions, the city will establish an information center and a designee to apply the most effective methods available for information distribution on a daily basis explaining and educating the public on the purpose, cause and methods of conservation being observed. Before the voluntary water conservation plan is scheduled to begin (i.e., before May of each year), the city's water use management plan will be communicated to the public through articles in the official city newspaper and the local public access television channel, and may be supplemented by pamphlets distributed in utility bills at the same time. As trigger conditions approach, the public will be notified through articles on the current condition and water conservation methods in the official city newspaper.
