§ 42-42. Payment of rates and charges; discontinuance of service.

(a)

Due date. Payments for water, wastewater and solid waste service rendered by the city are payable on the first day of each month. Payments not received by the city by the 16th day of the month are considered past due.

(b)

Past due. Payments not received by the 15th of the month will incur a late charge of ten percent of the total amount.

(c)

Disconnect. Any account with an outstanding balance of $50.00 or more by the 25th of the month (unless the 25th falls on a weekend or city holiday) will be disconnected. Fees are:

(1)

Regular business hours: a reconnect fee of $25.00 will be added.

(2)

After hours: a reconnect fee of $50.00 will be added.

(3)

Disconnect Fee: a disconnect fee of $50.00 will be added.

(4)

This fee is due once an account goes into cutoff status.

(d)

Credit card processing fee. A processing or handling fee of $3.00 will be charged by the city at the point of sale for processing or handling each time a credit card is used.
