§ 8-455. Adoption of county food establishments rules, requirements and regulations.

(a)

The city council adopts by reference the provisions of the county code and ordinances regarding food and food establishments which are enforced in the city by the county as the regulatory authority.

(b)

Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Authorized agent or employee means the employees of regulatory authority.

Food establishment means a food service establishment, a retail food store, a mobile food unit and/or a roadside food vendor.

Municipality of Elgin in this section shall be understood as to refer to the city.

Regulatory authority means Bastrop or Travis County, whichever is applicable.
