§ 6-219. National Electrical Code adopted by reference.

  • (a)

    The National Electrical Code, 2014 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted as the electrical code of the city. Such code, one copy of which shall be placed on file in the office of the city secretary, is made a part hereof as if set out verbatim and shall be in effect except as it may be in conflict with provisions of this article.

    (b)

    At such time as a new edition of the National Electrical Code is published by the National Fire Protection Association, the building official shall obtain a copy and, after review, present it to the city council for adoption. After approval by the city council, the new edition shall be placed on file with the city secretary and shall become the official electrical code. Should the city council desire to make any modifications to the new edition of the electrical code not reflected in this article, they shall adopt the amendments thereto by ordinance.
