§ 6-187. Adopted by reference.

(a)

The International Mechanical Code, 2012 edition, including the permit fee schedule and all appendices thereto, is hereby adopted as the mechanical code of the city to regulate the installation of mechanical systems in the city including heating and air conditioning systems and incinerators. Such code, one copy of which shall be placed on file in the office of the city secretary, is made a part hereof as if set out verbatim and shall be in effect except as it may be in conflict with provisions of this article.

(b)

At such time as a new edition of the mechanical code is published, the mechanical official shall obtain a copy and, after review, present it to the city council for adoption. After approval by the city council, the new edition shall be placed on file with the city secretary and shall become the official mechanical code. Should the city council desire to make any modifications to the new edition of the mechanical code not reflected in this article, they shall adopt the amendments thereto by ordinance.
