§ 36-513. Design of ingress or egress for public streets.

  • All entrance and exit driveways to public streets shall be located with due consideration for traffic flow and so as to afford maximum safety to traffic on the public streets. Whenever practicable, the city requires a single driveway on the property line between adjacent lots. All such entrances and exits shall be so located, designed, and restricted in number as to:

    (1)

    Achieve maximum feasible distance from street intersections and from exiting and proposed access connections from adjacent properties;

    (2)

    Minimize left-hand turns and other turning movements;

    (3)

    Discourage the routing of vehicular traffic to and from nonresidential uses through local residential streets; and

    (4)

    Minimize conflict with vehicular traffic.
