§ 28-1. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Board means the city parks and recreation advisory board.

Director means a person so designated and in charge of the parks and community development department.

Park means a park, playground, recreation center, community center or any other area in the city owned by the city, and devoted to active or passive recreation, including a recreational trail system, all planted expressways, parkways, triangles and traffic circles maintained by the city, except the parkway strips between curb or gutter and sidewalks, or, if none, the front property line along the several streets and highways of the city.
